Welcome to Freshers' Fair 2009!

The Freshers' Fair is the single largest event organised by Oxford University Student Union, and is your chance to see the vast opportunities that clubs, societies and teams can offer you in Oxford.

Whilst going to the Exams School may not seem like the most appealing of your first week adventures, the Fair is undoubtedly a highlight in Freshers’ Week.  Over the summer hundreds of societies will have been working hard, producing their posters and honing their pitches to entice you to sign up to their societies.  This year the Fair will boast over  400 student clubs, teams and societies providing a one off chance to see just what Oxford students really do get up to, to size each and every society up, meet its current members, and listen to why they think you should sign up.

Whilst we had hoped to move the days of this year’s Freshers’ Fair to Thursday, Friday and Saturday we have been unable to because of an unexpected rise in costs of booking the Exam Schools on a Saturday.  So instead the Fair will run, as it has done in previous years, on Wednesday 7, Thursday 8, followed by ReFreshers' Fair on Friday 9 - a chance for returning students to catch up with the huge range of opportunities available at the Fair.

Your college will tell you when you (and your new friends) will be attending, as well as how to get to our venue, the Exam Schools.  From signing up to these societies you’ll meet many of your future best friends, so remember; take your time, don’t be rushed and sign up to as many things as you can.

This is a great opportunity to see what Oxford has to offer you and I look forward to seeing you all at the Fair!
